BALLWIN, Mo. — An eastern Missouri man has been charged with striking and killing a woman in a fast-food parking lot while high on methamphetamine and morphine.
The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that 26-year-old Geoffrey Kasden, of Wentzville, was charged Monday with involuntary manslaughter in the December 2015 death of 52-year-old Kimberly Austill, of Ballwin. Bail is set at $10,000. No attorney is listed for him in online court records.
Police said that Kasden veered off a road and struck Austill’s vehicle as she was waiting to pull out of a Steak ‘n Shake parking lot in Ballwin. Court records say Kasden was found with “fresh needle marks” on his forearm when being treated at the hospital after the crash.
Kasden’s criminal history includes convictions of drug possession and driving with drug intoxication.
