ALBANY, Ore. — Authorities say a 77-year-old woman has been struck and killed by a vehicle near Albany, Oregon.

Linn County Sheriff Bruce Riley says Anna Dirkje Evan was crossing the road to get her newspaper before dawn Tuesday morning when she was struck by a man driving to work.

Authorities say the 24-year-old driver has been cooperative and no drugs or alcohol were involved.
