With Bartholomew County United Way pledges totaling only 67 percent of a $1.6 million goal, campaign workers extended the pledge deadline in the hopes of preventing a shortage and severe funding cuts.

1967

A chemical repellent adopted by Columbus Police, “Quell,” was used for the first time during the arrest of a man who refused to leave the emergency room at Bartholomew County Hospital.
