SOUTH JORDAN, Utah — Utah law enforcement officials say a young girl is in critical condition after she and a boy were hit by truck in a crosswalk in South Jordan.

Police say three children between 7 and 9 years old had been crossing the street when a truck drove through the intersection and hit two of them.

Police say the children had the right of way.

The boy was treated at the scene for minor injuries.

The girl had more significant injuries and was flown to Primary Children’s Medical Center in critical condition, although officials say her injuries are non-life threatening.

Officer Sam Winkler with the South Jordan Police Department says the 61-year-old driver of the truck is cooperating with police.

According to Winkler, there are no obvious signs of impairment.
