Randy and Anna Scudder, owners of Cummins Book Store on Washington Street, billed as one of the state’s oldest such businesses, closed the store temporarily but planned to reopen in the spring at a different location.

1992

Grammer residents described hearing a sound like a “giant vacuum cleaner” as what was probably a tornado sucked up trees, sheds, barns, garages, roofs and and tanker trucks.

A four-page illustrated article on Columbus architecture, “Skyline Rises in a Corn Belt Town,” was featured in an issue of Business Week magazine just one week after a similar story appeared in Life magazine.
