Robert ‘Bob’ Koester

Mr. Robert James “Bob” Koester, 78, of Seymour, passed away on Wednesday, November 22, 2017, at home with his family.

He was born on October 4, 1939, in Jackson County, to the late Wilbert and Marie Emma M. (Claycamp) Koester.

He was a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church in Dudleytown.

On October 20, 1963, he married Sharon Allman; she preceded him in death.

Over the years, he worked at farming, Herb Wente gas station, Thompson Dairy and retired from Prairie Farms after 39 years of service.

In retirement, he delivered office supplies with his daughter-in-law, Karen.

He is survived by his children, Gregory (Karen) Koester, Stephen (Sandra) Koester; daughter-in-law, Michelle Koester; grandchildren, Daniel, Kourtland, Laura, Chandler, Chase, Karrington, Kensley and Kaylyn; brothers-in-law, John Pottschmidt and Mike Olsen; and sisters-in-law, Betty Maple and Carol Hounschel.

He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Sharon Koester; infant daughter, Susan Michelle Koester; son, Thomas Scott “Tom” Koester, sister, Margaret Pottschmidt; sister-in-law, Connie Olsen, and brothers-in-law, Jim Maple and Jim Allman.

Funeral services will be conducted by Voss & Sons Funeral Service at Emanuel Lutheran Church Dudleytown on Saturday, November 25, at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Philip Bloch officiating. Burial will follow at Emanuel Lutheran Church Cemetery.

Family and friends may call at Voss & Sons Funeral Service on Friday from 3-8 pm and at the church on Saturday from 9 a.m. until time of service.
