WASILLA, Alaska — Two Wasilla residents have been charged with assault on a peace officer after a confrontation with two Alaska State Troopers.
While investigating a disturbance early Thursday at a home, troopers say 27-year-old Chris Elving tried to fight with two officers.
Troopers say 22-year-old Bernadette Myers forcefully pulled one of the troopers off Elving, injuring the trooper and ripping his jacket.
The officers say Elving then pulled out a folding knife, opened the blade and advanced toward the injured trooper.
The second officer used a stun gun on Elving. He and Myers were arrested.
Elving is charged with felony assault and remained jailed Friday at Mat-Su Pretrial. Myers was released on bail.
Online court documents do not list their attorneys.
The injured trooper was treated and released at a hospital.
