BRATTLEBORO, Vt. — Vermont town officials are considering an additional sidewalk plow to help with snowy conditions.

The Brattleboro Reformer reports the Brattleboro Select Board discussed the option at a meeting Tuesday. Brattleboro currently has one sidewalk plow.

Residents worry that snow will continue to impede access and cause safety issues for elderly residents and children. They say a second plow would help during heavy storms.

A second plow will cost about $139,000.

Board member John Allen says the board was in agreement that the town needs a second sidewalk plow. Allen says he’s confident the town will find a way to finance the plow.
