Suspect in Columbus apartment shooting in serious condition

COLUMBUS, Ind. –A Columbus man was hospitalized in serious condition Sunday after a shooting that took place in a Columbus apartment complex, police said.

The victim in Saturday’s shooting was identified as Marquis Corum, 18, who was transported to an unspecified hospital by a medical helicopter, said Lt. Matt Harris, spokesman for the Columbus Police Department.

The shooting occurred inside a residence at the Arbors at Water’s Edge apartment complex, 4060 N. County Road 150W, on the northwest side of the city, Harris said.

Corum was shot in the stomach, Harris said.

Columbus police investigators reported that witnesses saw a gray-colored passenger vehicle leave the complex after the shooting, Harris said.

The suspect’s vehicle was located in Indianapolis Saturday night, Harris said.

The apartment complex is west of U.S. 31 and Indianapolis Road, and south of Lowell Road.
