2007

A 20-foot blue spruce, growing in the yard of Randy and Lois Kimery’s home in Columbus for 22 years, was chosen to be the official city Christmas tree.

1992

A 24-foot blue spruce planted in 1972 by Leland and Pat Ragsdale of Columbus was chosen by the city to be the Community Christmas Tree.

1967

Hundreds of Columbus fans were among the 52,770 spectators watching at the stadium in Bloomington as Indiana University beat Purdue 19-14 and won a trip to the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California.
