Investigators say a toddler who was found dead in the Big Thompson River in northern Colorado drowned.
The Fort Collins Coloradoan reports 23-month-old Ellie Lynn Pascale-Webb was found unresponsive in the river after she was reported missing from a home near Drake on Monday morning. The Larimer County coroner’s office says hypothermia also played a role in her death, which has been ruled an accident.
The child’s mother awoke Monday morning and found the girl was gone. The door to their home was open, and the mother told police she last saw her child 30 minutes earlier before they both fell asleep.
No other information was released.
