CLINTON, Iowa — Authorities say firefighters found a body inside a burning home in the eastern Iowa city of Clinton.

The Clinton Herald reports that firefighters who were dispatched a little before 11:30 p.m. Monday found the two-story structure engulfed in flames. They didn’t find the body until the fire could be controlled sufficiently for them to go inside the house.

The name of the dead person hasn’t been released. The fire cause is being investigated.
