Heritage Fund seeks proposals for organizational excellence grants

Heritage Fund — The Community Foundation of Bartholomew County will issue a request for proposals in March to nonprofits working in or serving Bartholomew County, seeking to know what it would take to achieve organizational excellence.

Grants supported through the request for proposals will be for activities such as, but not limited to, strategic planning, leadership development, communications strategy, fundraising planning, network and information technology system improvement, succession planning and productivity improvements.

The Heritage Fund is announcing the upcoming request for proposals now to allow organizations to assess and identify potential areas where the grant would be useful.

The areas of focus for the Organizational Excellence grants requested through the request for proposals must be justified by an organizational assessment, a current strategic plan or a directive from the organization’s board of directors indicating the area of focus is a prioritized, ongoing organizational improvement initiative.

Organizations that haven’t completed an assessment are encouraged to visit heritagefundbc.org for a list of free organizational assessment tools. Organizations are welcome to use these or other tools to prepare for the request for proposals.

The Heritage Fund launched the Organizational Excellence grant program this year to take a more active role in strengthening local nonprofits.
