BURLINGTON, N.C. — Authorities say a woman was shot in the head has survived what appears to be a road rage shooting in North Carolina.

Burlington Police Assistant Chief Chris Verdeck said witnesses told officers that two men inside a Chevrolet Impala fired at another car Thursday after getting angry in traffic.

Verdeck said the woman survived Thursday’s shooting and is in stable condition in the hospital.

Police have a few people they want to talk to, but have not filed charges.

Verdeck said in a statement the woman was sitting in the passenger seat of the Impala and the driver of the car was not hurt.
