Animal Care Services open house December 17

Animal Care Services open house slated

Columbus Animal Care Services will have its Holiday Open House from 1 to 4 p.m. Dec. 17.

More than 50 dogs and cats, including kittens, are available for adoption. The shelter is asking community residents to donate gifts to help the animals, including pet food (especially kitten and cat food), cat litter, paper towels, bleach and blue Dawn dishwashing liquid.

A complete list of items to donate is at columbus.in.gov/animal-care-services.

Animal Care Services also is seeking monetary donations as the city’s support includes wages, utilities and maintenance of facilities and vehicles, but the adoption/medical fund does not use tax dollars. That fund is supported by fines, fees and monetary donations. Donations may be dropped off at the shelter, 2730 Arnold Drive, during the open house.
