Coroner’s office identifies accident victim

The Bartholomew County Coroner’s office has identified the victim in a fatal truck crash west of Columbus that was reported at 8:12 a.m. today.

Coroner Clayton Nolting went to the accident at State Road 46 near Tipton Lakes Boulevard and pronounced Brian L. Stevens, age 54, Columbus, dead at the scene.

Stevens was the sole occupant of the 2012 Dodge Ram truck which collided with a tree on the north side of the highway, Nolting said. Stevens had trauma to the chest, but official cause of death is pending toxicology results, the coroner said.
