MONTVILLE, Maine — Police say a 16-year-old high school student died in a car accident on his way to school in the Maine town of Montville.

Police say the crash killed Riley Boulay of Liberty, who was a student at Mount View High School in Thorndike. They say the single-car crash happened Wednesday morning and appears to have been caused by speeding.

Police say Boulay lost control of his vehicle, left the roadway and struck multiple trees. They say the crash is still under investigation by the Waldo County Sheriff’s Office.
