EDINBURGH
John D. Stillabower, 59, of Edinburgh, passed away Tuesday, December 5, 2017 at Columbus Regional Hospital in Columbus.
He was born January 10, 1958 in Johnson County. He was the son of John D.” Jack”and Martha (Thompson) Stillabower.
He is survived by a son, Jacob A. Stillabower of Flat Rock; a companion, Cindy Basey of Edinburgh, and her children, Michelle Basey and Hannah (Dennis) Smith, both of Edinburgh; granddaughters, Reese Smith and Reagan Smith; sisters, Nancy E. Stillabower of Franklin, Susan (Rick) Piercefield of Edinburgh and Cindy (Bruce) Krueger of Nashville; a niece, Rachel Piercefield and Marah and a nephew, Ryan (Brittany) Piercefield and Luke, both of Edinburgh.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He was a 1976 graduate of Edinburgh High School and attended Indiana University.
He was employed by Patriot Engineering of Indianapolis.
He was a member of the Sons of the American Legion, Post 233 in Edinburgh.
He enjoyed being a sports official, refereeing area sporting events. He enjoyed playing golf and watching IU basketball.
A memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, December 10, 2017 by Mark Henderson at Eskew-Eaton Funeral Home in Edinburgh. Calling will be from 1 p.m. until the time of service. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh.
