Hope Food Bank and food pantries at the Salvation Army, Human Services Inc. and Love Chapel experienced food shortages after a record-breaking November.


More than 500 people joined the search for five Columbus Boy Scouts who became lost while hiking in Brown County State Park and used their scouting skills to survive 27 hours of frigid temperatures before being found in good condition.


Despite some 40 percent of crops still standing in water-logged fields, Bartholomew County’s corn crop was expected to average between 85 and 90 bushels an acre.
