GRAND FORKS, N.D. — A teenager is recovering from injuries after being struck by a car in Grand Forks.

Police say the 16-year-old was walking across the street in the crosswalk Wednesday afternoon, but slipped and fell on some ice. The 17-year-old driving the SUV that struck the younger teen told police the icy streets made it impossible to stop.

The injured teen was taken to Altru Hospital. His or her condition is not known.
