Columbus J.D. Byrider franchise owner Roy Wagner has received a Franchise of the Year award for 2017.
The Franchise of the Year awards were presented at the corporation’s 2017 annual convention in Hollywood, Florida. Wagner’s dealerships won in the Multiple Locations category.
Wagner opened his first J.D. Byrider location in Muncie in 1993. The other dealerships he owns are in Anderson, Bloomington, Evansville, Muncie, Richmond and Kansas City, Missouri.
The Franchise of the Year award is based on customer feedback, sales, financing and overall performance.
A 2007 Columbus East High School graduate was honored with a business award recently.
Mischaela Elkins was nominated and won the Porsche 30 Under 30 in Business Award for Chicago.
Elkins received the honor for her dedication to civic, business, and philanthropic accomplishments.
A Chicago resident, she works for Eze Software Group, a private equity firm specializing in software solutions for hedge funds and other asset management firms. She also owns a growth strategy firm and online media company called MINIVEST.
She graduated from Indiana University with a bachelor of science degree in business administration. She is set to graduate this month with a Master of Business Administration degree from Instituto de Empresa in Madrid, Spain.
Elkins was also recognized for her involvement with the Save Venice organization, a nonprofit dedicated to preserving Venetian religious art and artifacts.
Steven Sellers, an ASE Certified automobile technician from Columbus, was recently honored with a national achievement award as the Snap-on/ASE Master Automobile Technician of the Year.
Sellers is the lead diagnostic technician at Eldon’s Automotive Service in Columbus. He has been a technician for 37 years.
Forty-seven automotive professionals were recognized in mid-November at the Fall Board of Governors meeting of the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence in San Diego, California.
The awards spotlight top scorers on the ASE Certification Tests from among more than a quarter million ASE certified professionals nationwide.
