I-65 lane closures planned for guardrail work

A subcontractor for the Indiana Department of Transportation’s project to add travel lanes on Interstate 65 in Bartholomew and Jackson counties will be working tonight resulting in lane restrictions.

Motorists may encounter right lane closures tonight between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. on southbound I-65 at mile marker 67.5, and on northbound I-65 at mile marker 65.3 where crews replace sections of damaged guardrail, INDOT said.

Later in the week, repairs are planned on a damaged cable barrier in the median in that area, but lane closures are not anticipated to be needed then.

E&B Paving is the state’s contractor for the reconstruction of I-65 between U.S. 50 at Seymor and State Road 58 south of Columbus, where construction is expected to begin in the spring.
