Edinburgh man charged in stabbing incident

An Edinburgh man was arrested after police said he stabbed a woman who was staying at his home during an argument.

Tony E. McGeorge, 47, was arrested on a charge of battery with a deadly weapon, intimidation, disorderly conduct and battery.

Edinburgh police were called to a home on Fulford Drive after 9 p.m. Saturday on a report of a stabbing.

A woman who was staying at the home told police McGeorge was upset that her boyfriend was staying with her in her room, and they began to argue.

The woman and her boyfriend tried to push McGeorge out of her room, but McGeorge was holding onto the woman’s arm. The woman said McGeorge stabbed her multiple times in the arm before she could get away from him. The couple then barricaded the door and called police, according to the Edinburgh Police Department report.

McGeorge told police the woman had hit him, so he grabbed a knife, but denied stabbing her, the report said.

The woman was taken to Johnson Memorial Health, where she received stitches for three stab wounds, the report said.

McGeorge, 517 Fulford Drive, was arrested and taken to the Johnson County jail, where he was held on $8,600 bond.
