A news release from the office of Sen. Evan Bayh announced that North Christian Church, a National Historic Landmark, would receive a $300,000 grant from the National Park Service’s Save America’s Treasures program for repairs to the building’s slate roof.

1992

Cummins Engine Co. announced it would add 160 jobs at its Jamestown, New York, engine plant after New York state provided a $700,000 incentive package to help Cummins consolidate its manufacturing operations there.

1967

The National Guard Armory at Seventh and Franklin streets, severely damaged by fire earlier in the year, was put up for sale.
