Mary Lee Bush Povaleri

DEPUTY

Mrs. Mary Lee Bush Povaleri, age 87, of Deputy, entered this life on July 19, 1930 in Deputy. She was the loving daughter of the late Otis Harold and Della Mae Vanover Bush.

She was raised in the Deputy community and graduated from Deputy High School in 1948.

She was united in marriage on September 29, 1947 to Tulia Povaleri in Scottsburg, by the justice of the peace.

This happy union of 63 years was blessed with one daughter, Patricia Ann “Patty,” and four sons, Vincent Joseph “Joe,” Ronald David “Ronnie,” Gary Dean “Deano” and Anthony Lee “Tony.”

She devoted her life to her family and loved being a homemaker. She also worked outside the home at Conn Organ in Madison for 17 years as a group leader and then for Costco Industries in Columbus for 16 years, before retiring on September 21, 1990.

Caring for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren brought her such enjoyment in life.

She also was a gifted artist, painting many works of art for her family to cherish. Mary Lee also sewed and loved her dogs.

She was a faithful member of the Bethany Baptist Church in Deputy and served as a Sunday school teacher for 20 years. She last held membership at New Harmony Baptist Church near Austin.

Mary Lee died on Sunday, December 10, 2017, at 4:25 p.m. at the Thornton Terrace Health Campus in Hanover, Indiana.

Mary Lee will be missed by her loving sons, Vincent Joseph Povaleri and his wife, Gail Lynn of Lafayette, Ronald David Povaleri and his wife, Becky of Deputy, Gary Dean “Deano” Povaleri and his wife, Wanda of Madison, Anthony Lee “Tony” Povaleri and his wife, Tina, of Deputy, her loving daughter, Patricia Ann “Patty” Napier and her husband, Victor of Paris Crossing, Indiana; her loving grandchildren, Julie Marie Povaleri Clark, Tara Hines, Kasey Michelle Morley, Danelle Marshall, Bradley Povaleri, Andy Lee Povaleri, Adam Napier, Ben Napier, Corey Povaleri and Cadie Povaleri; her adoring great-grandchildren, Alicia, Samantha, Kyle, Damon, Bennett, Zachary, Meredith, Brianna, Skylar, Caylee, Conner, Chloe, Blake, Riley and Audrey; her sweet great-great-grandchild, Cassidy; her brother, William Andrew Bush of Deputy; several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her father, Otis Harold Bush, her mother, Della Mae Vanover Bush; her beloved husband of 63 years, Tulia “Tulio” Povaleri, who died December 29, 2010; her brother, Melvin Leroy Bush, and her grandson, Otis Joe Povaleri.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, December 14, 2017, at 1 p.m., by Brother Robby King, Pastor Darren Wan and Pastor David Schill at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive, Madison. The graveside ceremony will be held on Thursday at 4:30 p.m. at the Bethany Cemetery near Deputy. Friends may call Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. and Thursday from 11 a.m. until the time of service at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre.
