Freshman has big night in leading Army to victory

Alex King posted game-highs and career-highs of 24 points and nine rebounds Tuesday to lead Army to a 76-60 win at St. Francis Brooklyn.

The freshman from Columbus North went 8 of 13 from the field, including 3 of 5 from 3-point range, and 5 of 6 from the free-throw line. He also tied for a team-high two steals in 25 minutes of action.

For the season, King ranks third on the team with 10.8 points and fourth with 4.2 rebounds for the 6-4 Black Knights.

North graduate helps Milwaukee to 7-game win streak

Kelsey Cunningham is a starter for a Milwaukee team that had won seven games in a row going into Thursday night’s game at Wisconsin.

The senior from Columbus North is averaging 2.3 points, 2.0 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 1.0 steals for the Panthers (7-2), who are ranked No. 25 in this week’s CollegeInsider.com Mid-Major Women’s Basketball Poll.

Brothers to play Tuesday at University of Indianapolis

Columbus North graduates Sawyer and Kooper Glick will play close to home Tuesday when their Barry University team visits University of Indianapolis.

Sawyer Glick is the 7-1 Bucs’ second-leading scorer with 17.6 points a game, while adding 3.6 rebounds and 2.3 assists. Fellow junior Kooper Glick averages 3.6 points, 2.0 rebounds and 1.0 assists.
