BETHESDA, Md. — Officials say a controlled explosion could create a loud blast and small vibrations for residents and businesses in Maryland.
The Washington Post quotes officials as saying the detonation will happen on Wednesday between 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. It is part of construction work on the “Crossing Project” for the Medical Center Metro stop in Bethesda. There will also be some short restrictions going into the Metro stop then.
Officials say a warning siren will sound roughly five minutes before the blast, and again one minute before it.
The project is meant to help ease traffic from vehicles and pedestrians through the heavily traveled area.
