Marilyn Ann Trotta

Marilyn Ann Trotta, 85, of Columbus, died Saturday, December 16, 2017 at IU Methodist Hospital. She was born February 14, 1932 in Mattoon, IL to Arden J. and Emma (Ashworth) Monroe.

Marilyn was a member of St. Bartholomew Catholic Church and the Red Hat Society. She was an art major in college and enjoyed sewing, gardening and feeding hummingbirds. Marilyn had an unusual sense of humor and loved that her grandchildren called her “Bubbles”.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Elizabeth Muelhausen; two sisters, Helen Monroe and Ruth Smith; and son-in-law, John Reed.

Survivors include her loving husband of 63 years, Paul M. Trotta; children, Michael (Rebecca) Trotta of Indianapolis, Martha (James) McGillivray of Arlington, VA, Sarah Trotta of Indianapolis, and Paul (Kathy) Trotta of Columbus. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 21, 2017 at St. Bartholomew Catholic Church with Fr. Clement T. Davis as celebrant. Burial will follow at Garland Brook Cemetery.

Visitation will be from Noon-4 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home and from 10-11 a.m. Thursday at church.
