Phyllis G. Stevens, 85, of Taylorsville, died at 4:14 p.m. December 18, 2017, at Columbus Regional Hospital.

Phyllis was born in Somerset, Kentucky, the daughter of Hugh and Lillie Raney Bullock.

She married Carl Stevens May 27, 1948, and he preceded her in death December 14, 2008.

She was the oldest standing member of First Baptist Church of Taylorsville.

She enjoyed quilting, reading, doing puzzles, and when she was younger, she enjoyed golfing and gardening.

The funeral will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, December 23, 2017, at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with Pastor Tom Collett officiating. Calling will be 4-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Flat Rock Baptist Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Taylorsville or German Township Fire Department.

Survivors include her sons, Jerry “Chuck” (Debbie) Stevens and Jeffery L. Stevens, both of Columbus, daughters, Jeanie Thompson of Taylorsville, Debra (Jeff) Boles of Columbus and Tonya R. (Terrill) Paradise of Columbus; brother, Gordon (Anne) Bullock of San Diego, California, sister, Edna Stone of Orlando, Florida; grandchildren, Carrie Stevens, James (Alisa) Stevens, Jennifer Melton, Kyle H. (Nina) Stevens, Kimberly Thompson, and Bailey, Libby and Jackson Paradise; along with several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Carl; a daughter, Margaret E. Stevens; and several brothers and sisters.
