Gas station attendant not seriously hurt in North Vernon attempted robbery

The attempted robbery occurred about 9:49 p.m. Thursday at the Country Mark Gas Station, located in the 500 block of West Walnut Street.

North Vernon police officers learned from an initial investigation that the station attendant was outside cleaning windows when he was approached, which turned into a physical confrontation, said Sgt. Andrew Richmond, spokesman for the department.

The attendant suffered minor injuries in the attack, Richmond said.
