Evanna E. Green

NORTH VERNON

Evanna E. Green, 86, of North Vernon, passed away at 7:30 a.m. on Thursday, December 21, 2017, at her residence.

Born October 7, 1931, in Jennings County, Mrs. Green was the daughter of the late Richard R. and Eva Marie Dear Grinstead.

She married Robert Allen “Bob” Green on November 21, 1947, at First Christian Church in Milroy. He preceded her in death on September 6, 2007.

Mrs. Green was a graduate of Milroy High School and worked 25 years as a secretary and in accounting for the Jennings County School Corporation, retiring in 1992.

She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in North Vernon and a former vice committeewoman for the Jennings County Republican Party.

Mrs. Green loved spending time with her grandkids and enjoyed gardening, bowling and antiquing.

Mrs. Green is survived by her sons, Gary (Marcia) Green and Robert D. (Donna) Green, both of North Vernon; a daughter, Brenda (Ernie) Wright of Commiskey; sister, Mary (Bennie) Barber of North Vernon; daughter-in-law, Leta Green of Commiskey; grandchildren, Gary (Tracy) Wright and Mark C. Green, both of Commiskey, Jason (Karrie) Green of Seymour, Deann (Michael)Aubuchon, Dustin Green and Karri Green, all of North Vernon; and great-grandchildren, D.J. (Meagan) Schroeder of Scipio, Allie (Bryant) Hoevener and Shelbi Wright, both of Commiskey, Brett Robbins, Lauryn Green and Noah Green, all of Seymour, Liam Aubuchon, Lillian Aubuchon, both of North Vernon; great-great-grandchildren, Gemma Schroeder, Tinley Schroeder, Willow Schroeder all of Scipio and Bryar Hoevener of Commiskey.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, Mark Allen Green; brothers, Robert, Dale and Hubert Grinstead; grandchildren, Sara Green and Lance Green; and great-granddaughter, Morgan Wright.

A funeral service for Mrs. Green will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 27, 2017, at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Services in North Vernon.

Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday, December 26, 2017, from 4 until 8 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday. Burial will be in the Vernon Cemetery in Vernon.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Our Hospice of Jennings County or the Make a Wish Foundation.
