MOBILE, Ala. — Authorities say an 89-year-old man was shot and killed in a grocery store parking lot in Alabama.

AL.com reports that Mobile police spokeswoman Charlotte Solis said responding officers found the man suffering from a gunshot wound around 1 p.m. Wednesday. He was pronounced dead at the scene at Greer’s CashSaver.

Witnesses told police the shooting happened during an altercation.

The victim’s name hasn’t been released.
