Bonita “Bonnie” K. Artis, 71, of Hope, died Tuesday, December 26, 2017 at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana.

Bonnie spent most of her life as a housewife.

She attended Hartsville Church of Christ.

Bonnie enjoyed cooking, baking, sewing, camping and taking care of her grandkids. She liked going to flea markets. She also collected cookbooks and Longaberger baskets.

Born on March 17, 1946 in Madison, Bonnie was the daughter of Leonard and Lula Mae Brooks Rucker.

She married Charles “Lynn” Artis in July of 1964, and he survives.

Other survivors include her children, Tammy (Allen) Bates of Greensburg, Dan (Charity) Artis and Matthew (Sandy) Artis, both of Hope; 10 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brother, Steve (Janet) Rucker of Hartsville, and sister, Linda (Shawn) Casey of Fort Walton Beach, Florida.

Bonnie is preceded in death by her parents; and stillborn son, Clifton.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at Norman Funeral Home with Pastor Tim Tallent officiating. Visitation will be Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Saturday. Burial will follow at Hawcreek Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be given to Amy Rucker Bernard Scholarship Fund or Hartsville Church of Christ.
