RUTLAND, Vt. — The project manager of an open-air meeting space development in Rutland, Vermont says work is on time and on budget.
The executive director of the Rutland Redevelopment Authority Breannan Duffy tells The Rutland Herald he expects the Center Street Marketplace to be complete by mid-May. He says it will be open to the public sometime in early July.
Construction on converting what is now alley space into the marketplace started this past summer. The project was funded largely through a $974,000 grant along with other contributions.
Duffy says the finished space could be used for outdoor concerts or for businesses to use as outdoor seating. The Recreation and Parks Department will be responsible for maintaining the area once it is complete.
