Barbara Eavey

YUMA, ARIZ.

With family beside her, Barbara Ellen Eavey, 73, passed away on Dec. 3, 2017 in Yuma, Arizona.

She was born Oct. 13, 1944 in Anna, Illinois to Carl and Lucille (Poole) Johnson.

Barbara was married to Larry Eavey on July 4, 1962 in Lebanon, Indiana.

The young couple moved to Elmhurst, Illinois from 1963 to 1966 before relocating back to Boone County where they raised two children, Norman and Pamela.

Frequent vacations took the family all over the United States. Barb also enjoyed multiple fun trips to Europe and Mexico with her husband.

During the last 20 years, Barb and Larry lived primarily in Arizona.

In addition to traveling, her interests included cooking, sewing, crocheting and reading.

She devoted most of her time and energy to the roles of a nurturing grandmother, supportive mother and caring wife.

Mrs. Eavey’s homes were “always open” for family and friends.

Mrs. Eavey is survived by her loving husband of 55 Years, Larry; sisters, Patricia (Phil) Rader, Debra (Wayne) Wells and Joyce Dremonas, and brothers, William Johnson, Robert (Annette) Johnson and Terry (Paula) Johnson.

Barbara Eavey is survived by her son, Norman (Lori Weisner) Eavey; and grandchildren, Olivia and Ethan, of Columbus, Indiana, daughter, Pamela, and Daniel Hodge of Avon; and grandchildren, Gabrielle, Emily and Bethany.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Gary Johnson; and sister, Sue Bigham.

Memorial will occur at 1 p.m. on Dec. 30 at Grace Church of Lebanon, 3001 Elm Swamp Road, Lebanon, IN 46052.
