Stories of mountain climber to fill libraries

Libraries in Jennings and Shelby counties will encourage visitors to make a resolution to start the new year with adventure in two sessions featuring a local mountain climber.

Columbus mountaineer Walter Glover will offer breathtaking images and talk about his climbing challenges and perilous weather, among other issues during events at 2 p.m. Jan. 20 at the Jennings County Library, 2375 State Road 3, North Vernon, and 2 p.m. Feb. 3 at the Shelby County Library, 57 W. Broadway, Shelbyville.

Glover has climbed around the world during the past decade fundraising for southern Indiana youth wellness initiatives. He has written books about climbing Mount Everest, Mount Kilimanjaro and mountains in Russia and Australia.

Books will be available at a discounted price, and a portion of each sale goes to benefit Foundation For Youth in Columbus.
