20-year-old woman dies in single-vehicle traffic accident

COLUMBUS, Ind. — A 20-year-old Elizabethtown woman has died from injuries sustained in a single-vehicle traffic accident in Bartholomew County, authorities said.

The victim, identified as Chyenne Marie Wray, died of massive trauma to her head and chest, according to the Bartholomew County Coronor’s office.

An initial investigation indicated that Wray was driving a 2003 Ford Explorer that was northbound on State Street, heading toward Columbus, near County Road 200S when the vehicle left the roadway for unknown reasons, the coroner’s office said.

The accident was reported at 9:50 p.m. Tuesday, authorities said.

Wray’s vehicle rolled multiple times, ejecting her and a passenger, according to the statement from the office of Coronor Clayton Nolting.

Wray was declared dead at the scene by Deputy Coroner Charlie Deweese.

Her passenger, Vincent Eddelman, 28, of Columbus was transported by LifeLine helicopter to an Indianapolis hospital, said Judy Jackson, spokesman for the Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Department.
