DURHAM, N.H. — The superintendent of Oyster River Cooperative School District is being honored by his peers in New Hampshire.

James Morse has been named Superintendent of the Year for 2018 by the New Hampshire School Administrators Association.

District school board Chairman Thomas Newkirk says in good times and tough times, Morse always conveys a sense of possibility. Newkirk says he always leaves Morse’s office feeling energized, hopeful and fortunate to be working with him.

Morse worked in Maine and was superintendent in Portland before joining the Oyster River district in 2012.

Morse, who once dropped out of high school, believes that public education ultimately placed him on the road to the success and is forever grateful for the support he has received throughout his career.
