Deputy recovers stolen vehicle, arrests driver

Bartholomew County Sheriff deputies recovered a stolen vehicle and arrested the driver for auto theft.

At 2:32 p.m. Thursday, Sgt. T.A. Smith saw a silver Nissan passenger car in the area of South Gladstone Avenue which matched the description of a vehicle reported stolen to the Columbus Police Department earlier in the day, deputies said.

Smith stopped the vehicle near South County Road 175E and East County Road 400S which was being driven by Gregory Everroad, 27, 3842 S. County Road 400W, deputies said.

Everroad was arrested on a charge of auto theft and is being held in the Bartholomew County Jail in lieu of $7,500 bond, jail officials said.
