TUCSON, Ariz. — Police are investigating an apparent murder-suicide at an apartment complex on Tucson’s east side.

They say the body of 52-year-old Yolanda Eberts was found with an obvious gunshot wound Saturday morning inside an apartment.

Officers located the body of 48-year-old Bryant Smith inside a car in the parking lot, also with an obvious gunshot wound.

They say Smith has been identified as Eberts’ boyfriend.

Homicide detectives have determined that Smith and Eberts were in a relationship and living together in the apartment where the shooting took place.

They say it appears Smith shot Eberts before turning the gun on himself.

Detectives are trying to determine what led up to the shooting.
