Janice Kay Boyd

NORTH VERNON

Janice Kay Boyd, 77, of North Vernon, passed away at 10:15 p.m. on Friday, January 5, 2018 at her residence.

Born August 16, 1940, in Seymour, Mrs. Boyd was the daughter of the late Clarence and Dortha Mae Gregory Hubbard. She married Rev. Dale Boyd on September 24, 1970, in North Vernon; he survives.

Mrs. Boyd had worked as a unit clerk for Jennings Community Hospital in North Vernon, and as an attendant for Muscatatuck State Developmental Center in Butlerville. She was a member of Butlerville Mennonite Church. She enjoyed going to yard sales, singing gospel, and being with her grandchildren, giving them her love and attention.

Surviving with her husband, Rev. Dale Boyd of North Vernon, are a son, Scott (Kelley) Coulter of Smyrna, Tennessee; stepson, Kevin Boyd of North Vernon; stepdaughters, Karen (Steve) Thayer and Kathy (Robert) Hopkins, both of Scipio, and Kay (Bobby) Stearns of North Vernon; brothers, Gary (Vera) Hubbard of Orlando, Florida and Mark Hubbard of Winter Haven, Florida; sisters, Linda (Gene) Helt Wilber of Columbus and Carol (Donald) Castor of Homosassa, Florida; twelve grandchildren; and twenty-three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Randall Troy Coulter; a daughter, Julia Murray Coulter; step-daughter, Kim Foist; sister, Judith Southerland; and grandson, Bryce Patterson.

A funeral service for Mrs. Boyd will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, January 9, 2018, at the Butlerville Mennonite Church with the Rev. Billy Higgs and Rev. Jeff Eldridge officiating. Family and Friends may call at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Services on Monday, January 8, 2018, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the Church. Burial will be in the Vernon Cemetery in Vernon.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to the Butlerville Mennonite Church.
