Joyce Cox, 74, of Elizabethtown, passed away at 4:57 p.m. on Thursday, January 4, 2018, at her residence.

No services will be held. Arrangements have been entrusted to Sawyer-Pickett Funeral & Cremation Service.

Born February 19, 1943, in Adair City, KY, Joyce was the daughter of Elzie and Lola Caldwell Pike. She married John Cox on September 22, 1983. He preceded her in death on October 10, 2010.

She retired from AVI where she was a cook and baker at Cummins, Inc. Joyce was a member of the Hope House of Prayer. She enjoyed spending time with her great-grandchildren, family and flower gardening.

Joyce is survived by three daughters, Teresa (Tony) Hurt of Seymour, Connie Sue (Robin) Hook and Melody (Charles) Austerman, all of Elizabethtown; two sons, Ricky (Kim) Burton of Edinburgh and William Lee (Melissa) Burton of Columbus; ten grandchildren, Raymond Ferguson of Hayden, Dwayne Ferguson of Hope, Matthew Hook of North Vernon, Dustin Dodson of Columbus, John Michael Burton of IA, Heather Burton of Daytona, FL, Richard Burton of Edinburgh, and Nathan, Christopher and Chuckie Austerman of Columbus; nine great-grandchildren; one sister, Shirley (Charles) Isaac of Florida; and one brother, Kenny (Madonna) Price of Edinburgh.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one granddaughter, Lynnie Burton; one great-grandchild, Zachariah Ferguson; two brothers, Randy and Alvin Pike; and one sister, Geraldine Price.
