PORTLAND, Maine — Police in Portland, Maine, are investigating a death they say is suspicious.

Police say the body of 36-year-old Sokha Khuon was discovered on Sunday night in a house in the Riverton section of the city that she shared with her husband and two children.

Police say they responded to the home after a neighbor reported hearing gunshots. They had blocked off the street where the body was found by Monday morning.

The State Medical Examiner’s Office is expected to determine the cause of death. Police say the two children, ages 10 and 15, were found by police officers outside and unharmed.

Police say there is not a threat to the public.
