URBANDALE, Iowa — Police in the Des Moines suburb of Urbandale say a man stabbed months ago in a home invasion robbery has died.

Television station KCCI reports that police confirmed Wednesday that 77-year-old Robert Howe died earlier this week.

The stabbing happened in September, and police arrested 19-year-old Magai Anai-Kur, of Des Moines, saying the teen broke into Howe’s home and stabbed him before stealing Howe’s minivan.

Anai-Kur is charged with attempted murder, first-degree robbery, first-degree burglary and second-degree theft.

Police say they have informed the Polk County Attorney of Howe’s the death and that Anai-Kur could now face more serious charges.
