Lois I. Martin

BLOOMINGTON

Lois I. Martin, age 93, of Bloomington, died Monday morning at I.U. Health, Bloomington Hospital.

Born October 6, 1924 in Richland, Indiana, she was the daughter of Andrew A. and Carrie (Yeager) Smith.

Lois retired as an elementary school teacher after over 27 years of service.

She and her late husband, Ray, were charter members of St. Paul United Methodist Church.

Lois loved to do quilting and was very involved in the activities of the church.

Lois is survived by her and Ray’s three children: Bryan (Jan Ackerman) Martin of Nashville, Indiana, Steve (Gail Addison) Martin of Las Vegas, Nevada and Debbie Martin of Columbus, Indiana; one grandchild: JanaRae Kendall (David) of Huntersville, North Carolina; and two grandchildren: Caleb Kendall and Leo Kendall.

Lois was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Martin, on August 28, 2008 to whom she was married for 62 years.

The funeral service will be held on Thursday, Jan. 11 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul United Methodist Church with Rev. David Mullens and David Kendall officiating. Entombment will follow at Valhalla Memory Gardens Mausoleum. Friends may visit the family on Wednesday, Jan. 10 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Day and Deremiah-Frye Funeral Home and on Thursday from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the church.

The family suggests memorial contributions be given to St. Paul United Methodist Church.
