NEW YORK — A 22-year-old woman was seriously injured when she apparently passed out and fell onto subway tracks in Brooklyn just as a train pulled in.

A photo shows the woman wedged underneath the train holding the hand of an MTA construction worker. The Manhattan-bound train apparently missed her and she became jammed between the rail and the wall.

Police say it happened at the Bedford Avenue station in Williamsburg just after 11 a.m. Thursday.

Firefighters pulled the woman out about 20 minutes after she fell.

Fire officials say she was hospitalized in serious condition.
