KEARNS, Utah — A 37-year-old Utah woman has been hit and killed by a school bus southwest of Salt Lake City.

Police have identified the victim of Thursday morning’s accident as Becky Bell of Kearns.

KSL-TV reports Bell was attempting to cross the street when she was struck by the bus at about 7 a.m. in Kearns near 5240 W. 5400 South.

Neither of the two children on the bus was hurt. One was in a wheelchair. Both were transferred to another bus following the accident.

Police say Bell lives about a block away from the scene and may have been trying to catch a UTA bus.

No other details have been released. The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
