ATTLEBORO, Mass. — A Massachusetts community rallied together in their search for a 3-year-old black Labrador dog named Kate — finding the pup just 36 hours after she ran off from her home.

Owner Virginia Garcia says Kate is her family’s first and only dog, and came to their home in Attleboro a month ago after being rescued from a neglectful family. The Sun Chronicle of Attleboro reports Kate got loose Monday morning and ran off — and Garcia was helped along in her search by friends and good Samaritans online and around the community.

People from all over joined in on the search, with one resident eventually finding Kate in her backyard Tuesday and alerting Garcia.

She says she is happy Kate is home.
