MOSS POINT, Miss. — An early morning shooting has left one man dead in Mississippi.

Moss Point Police Chief Calvin Hutchins tells news outlets that the shooting took place around 12:30 a.m. Friday.

Police found a man suffering from a gunshot wound, who later died. Hutchins says one person at the scene has been taken into custody.

The investigation is being handled as a homicide.
