Comedians to perform in show at YES Cinema

Nick Griffin, a local favorite and a regular on the nationally syndicated “Bob and Tom Show,” will headline the next YES Comedy Showcase at 8 p.m. Saturday at YES Cinema, Fourth and Jackson streets in downtown Columbus. Jeff Oskay, who has been featured on the show this week and is a writer for the crew, will open.

Griffin, who made a dozen appearances on “Late Night With David Letterman,” most recnetly appeared at YES about two years ago. He has often shared stories about his single life and observations on the social scene such as this nugget: “Young people drink because they think life is awesome. Older people drink because they know it’s not.”

He also has had his own half-hour special on Comedy Central.

Oskay jokes — actually, he’s serious — that his background includes serving as assistant manager of an envelope manufacturing firm.
